Staff of SABIC Vietnam volunteer to teach the project “JA Lights of Our Future” at school

As a part of the project “JA Lights of Our Future” 2022, from June to November 2022, JA Vietnam has been cooperating with SABIC Vietnam Co., Ltd. to connect the company's staff with Thang Long Kidsmart Primary School. This is the second phase of the project in which SABIC Vietnam staff directly participate in teaching the program to grade-5 students grade 5.
 

On September 20th, after a period of working together to mutually agree on the implementation methods of the second phase, JA Vietnam, SABIC Vietnam, the Board of Directors, and teachers of Thang Long Kidsmart Primary School had a meeting to officially launch the project at the school and discussed the corporation between three parties. Accordingly, 5 employees from SABIC Vietnam will voluntarily go to the school and directly teach 6 lessons of the program “Lights of Our Future” to 108 grade-5 students. This teaching activity lasts from September 2022 to November 2022.
 

Previously, on August 25th, 2022, JA Vietnam already organized a training course for these 5 volunteers on the project JA “Lights of Our Future". It was to equip them with an overview of the project, knowledge of the 6 lessons, and effective teaching skills used in primary schools.

The first photos of the “Lights of Our Future” classes at Thang Long Kidsmart Primary School were revealed. Classes are very fun and volunteers can create good interactions with students. More importantly, useful knowledge on environmental protection and sustainable lifestyle is effectively communicated to the students. That is also the project’s ultimate goal which is forming healthy habits and cultivating an eco-friendly lifestyle for students. With employees of SABIC Vietnam, volunteering in such a social project is an opportunity for them to generate positive impacts on the community and demonstrate SABIC's high social responsibility for the sustainable development of the world.
 

In October and November 2022, 5 volunteers from SABIC Vietnam will continue their teaching activity at Thang Long Kidsmart Primary School. We hope that each class will be warmly received, bring new and useful knowledge to students, and engage SABIC Vietnam's volunteers with community activities.

About the “JA Lights of Our Future” project

JA Lights of Our Future 2022 is a social educational project for students aged from 8 to 11. This project is deployed in 14 countries around the world in 2022 with the cooperation of SABIC Corporation, JA Worldwide, and other JA members. Throughout the project, students have the chance to learn knowledge on environmental protection and human health, thereby cultivating healthy habits and forming a sustainable lifestyle. Children are encouraged to apply scientific knowledge to explore and come up with new and age-appropriate solutions for environmental protection.
